Join us in our new ASHRAE term kick off where our new President, Robert Baker will cover our strategic plan for the new term including our chapter goals, upcoming events, and future endeavors. Robert Baker is a highly skilled professional in the HVAC/R industry. Currently serving as the HVAC/R Training Coordinator for the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 412, he also held the position of CTTC Chair for the ASHRAE New Mexico chapter from 2022 to 2024 and currently is the New Mexico ASHRAE Chapter President for 2024-2025. In addition, he actively participates as a committee member for ASHRAE TC 4.3 ventilation rates and TRG4.IAQP indoor air quality requirements.

Robert's expertise is reflected in his multiple licenses in the HVAC/R trade in New Mexico, including a Mechanical contractor's license. He is recognized as a proctor and instructor for the EPA 608 universal certification, as well as the Low GWP Refrigerant safety: A2L Refrigerants (mildly Flammable) certification through ESCO.

With almost two decades of experience in the field, Robert has worked his way up from being a field technician to owning his own business. His dedication to the trade extends beyond his professional endeavors, as he actively collaborates with local governmental agencies to improve and enforce regulations and codes within the industry. Furthermore, he shares his expertise as a Subject Matter Expert on topics that impact the trades in New Mexico when working with legislators
