For our first CTTC event of the 2026-2027 ASHRAE calendar year, the University of New Mexico’s Facility Services team has graciously agreed to host us for a tour of the UNM Physics, Astronomy, and Interdisciplinary Science (PAIS) building.
Some highlights of the building are: Research labs, optics and nuclear facilities in basement, EMI and Vibration hardening of the building, Laboratory Airflow, Energy Controls, Offices and Lecture Theater, and, of course, the MEP Systems/Penthouse.
Lunch will be served in an upstairs conference room (ADA access and elevators available) of the Student Union Building from 11:15-11:45, while a presentation that outlines the PAIS building’s energy systems and lab airflow systems is reviewed. At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees will walk approximately 200M to the PAIS building, enter via the NE corner, and assemble in the PAIS lobby for the tour from 12:00-12:45.
No special PPE will be required for the tour.
Please note: In an effort to be mindful of the students and professors who are hard at work educating and learning, registration will be capped at 29 attendees.
Attendees are encouraged to carpool and park in the Cornell Parking Structure. Parking is available for $3.50/hr.
Should you wish to skip lunch and only join the group for the tour, after registering, please send an email to Jeremiah Suddarth (jeremiah.suddarth@nswhvac.com), letting him know to exclude you from the lunch count.
